Foreign news reported on April 20 that cotton yarn prices in northern India remained stable due to challenges in the raw material textile value chain.

Traders report that demand from the textile industry is weak and spinners are facing higher costs for natural fibers. Weavers want to pass on increased production costs, but weak demand is dragging down prices.

High imports of polyspun yarn from Indonesia and other countries also dampened market sentiment. The price of PC yarn in the Panipat recycled yarn market remained stable, while the selling prices of combed cotton and recycled polyester fiber remained at the previous level.

In Ludhiana, the market tone was bearish and cotton yarn prices remained at previous levels. The apparel industry is turning to polyester and PC yarns to control production costs. A trader from Ludhiana said: “The import of polyspun yarn from Indonesia and other countries is huge. Garment factories are switching to cheaper raw materials, hoping to get higher profit margins from non-cotton garments.” Cotton yarn Prices were flat.

In Ludhiana, 30 count combed yarn is selling at Rs 278-288 per kg; 20 and 25 count combed yarn is trading at Rs 268-278 per kg and 272-282 rupees; 30 count carded yarn is quoted at 257-267 rupees per kilogram.

Cotton yarn prices are also sluggish in Delhi market due to weak demand. A trader from Delhi said: “Global macroeconomic conditions have a negative impact on the market outlook. The domestic textile industry cannot survive on domestic demand alone as they require thousands of spindles to produce yarn. Export demand is not likely to increase in the near future. .”

In Delhi, 30-count combed yarn trades at 280-285 rupees per kilogram, 40-count combed yarn at 305-310 rupees per kilogram; 30-count carded yarn The yarn price is 255-260 rupees per kilogram, and the 40-count carded yarn is 285-290 rupees per kilogram.

In the Panipat recycled yarn market, the prices of combed cotton and recycled polyester fiber remained stable. Both are indispensable raw materials for India’s largest home furnishing market. The market faces a slowdown in purchases from across the home furnishing value chain, with trade sources indicating global demand has slowed over the past six months. Domestic demand is expected to pick up after July.

In Panipat, 10-count recycled PC yarn (grey) is traded at 85-90 rupees per kilogram, and 10-count recycled PC yarn (black) is traded at 60-65 rupees per kilogram; The price of 20-count recycled PC yarn (grey) is 95-100 rupees per kilogram, and the 30-count recycled PC yarn (gray) is quoted at 150-155 rupees per kilogram. Combed cotton is quoted at Rs 150-152 per kg. Recycled polyester fiber is quoted at Rs 78-80 per kg.

Cotton prices in northern India have softened after recent increases, and cotton arrivals and demand have remained stable. Weavers are cautious about purchasing as sluggish demand prevents them from raising yarn prices.

The arrival volume of cotton from northern India is limited to 7,000 bales (170 kg/bag). In Punjab cotton is traded at Rs 6325-6425 per morind, in Haryana cotton is quoted at 6320-6420 rupees per morind, in north Rajasthan cotton is quoted at 6525-6625 rupees per morind, in south Rajasthan cotton is quoted at 6525-6625 rupees per morind. The price quoted is 60,800-62,800 rupees per kandi.
