On February 21, 2018, the Argentine Ministry of Production issued Resolution No. 82/2018 in the Official Gazette of Argentina, upon application by the local Chamber of Commerce CÁMARA DE PRODUCTORES DE DENIM, CORDEROY Y AFINES and local enterprises ALPARGATAS S.A.I.C. and SANTANA TEXTIL CHACO S.A. , decided to launch an anti-dumping investigation into denim [Spanish: tejidos de mezclilla (‘DENIM’)] originating from China, Brazil, and Peru. The Mercosur customs codes of the products involved are 5208.43.00, 5209.42.10, 5209.42.90, 5209.49.00, 5210.49.10, 5211.42.10, 5211.42.90 and 5211.49.00. The dumping investigation period in this case is from February 2017 to January 2018, and the damage investigation period is from January 2015 to January 2018.
Stakeholders can register to respond to the lawsuit, receive a questionnaire, and contact the Secretariat of State for Trade of the Ministry of Production of Argentina or the Foreign Trade Commission to participate in the investigation and proceedings of the case.
