In February 2018, textile and clothing exports were not affected by the Spring Festival period or the appreciation of the RMB, and achieved rapid growth, with the growth rate far exceeding the national foreign trade exports.
According to data released by the General Administration of Customs, in RMB terms, textile and clothing exports in February were 131.9 billion yuan, an increase of 74.3%, of which textile exports were 57.89 billion yuan, an increase of 83.3%, and clothing exports were 74.01 billion yuan, an increase of 67.9%. The cumulative exports from January to February were 284.5 billion yuan, an increase of 18.8%, of which textile exports were 123.84 billion yuan, an increase of 27.4%, and clothing exports were 160.66 billion yuan, an increase of 12.9%.
In terms of US dollars, textile and clothing exports in February were US$20.35 billion, an increase of 85.3%, of which textile exports were US$8.92 billion, an increase of 94.3%, and clothing exports were US$11.43 billion, an increase of 78.9%. Cumulative exports from January to February were US$43.44 billion, an increase of 25.5%, of which textile exports were US$18.9 billion, an increase of 34.4%, and clothing exports were US$24.54 billion, an increase of 19.4%.
