% of Iran’s black fabrics rely on imports

According to a report by the “Iran Daily” on October 30, since most Iranian people wear black clothes to participate in religious activities, there is a large demand for black fabrics. Iran’s black fabrics are mainly produced by Iranian and Chinese manufacturers, 95% of which need to be imported. Officials report that about $10 million worth of burqas are imported each year, but black burqas worth more than that are smuggled in each year.
