-Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports amount to nearly 100 million U.S. dollars

The Vietnam News Agency reported on October 9 that from January to September this year, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports were nearly US$18 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19%, and imported textile raw materials and auxiliary materials were US$11 billion. The general manager of Vietnam Textile and Apparel Group predicts that Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports will reach US$24.5-25 billion this year, a year-on-year increase of 15-16%, and US$500-1 billion higher than the original target. Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports to traditional markets have grown significantly, with exports to the United States increasing by 15% year-on-year, the EU by 19%, Japan by 14%, and South Korea by 32%. In terms of textile raw materials, Vietnam imported 550,000 tons of cotton, with an import value of US$1.1 billion, of which US$500 million was imported from the United States and US$300 million was imported from India. The export volume of Vietnam Textile and Garment Group was US$2.36 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19%.
