Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports increased by .% year-on-year

In August 2014, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports amounted to US$2.144 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19.24% and a month-on-month decrease of 0.09%. Textile and apparel exports are expected to reach US$1.9 billion in September 2014.
From January to August 2014, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports totaled US$11.623 billion, a year-on-year increase of 18.58%.
In August 2014, Vietnam imported 42,000 tons of cotton, a year-on-year decrease of 8.7%; imported 61,000 tons of yarn, the same year-on-year level as the previous year; and imported US$718 million of fabric, a year-on-year increase of 7.16%. It is estimated that in September 2014, 60,000 tons of cotton will be imported, 70,000 tons of yarn will be imported, and fabric imports will cost US$800 million.
From January to August 2014, Vietnam imported 493,000 tons of cotton, a year-on-year increase of 27.72%; imported yarn 485,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.06%; imported fabrics of US$6.173 billion, a year-on-year increase of 14.23%.
