It was learned from the Fujian Textile and Garment Export Base Chamber of Commerce that most Asian markets, especially Southeast Asian markets, have been turbulent this year, which has affected Fujian Province’s textile and garment exports. However, from the second half of the year, the decline in textile exports has slowed down, and some It has even turned from negative to positive.
It is understood that Fujian Province’s textile exports were mainly affected by last year’s high base factor, coupled with the obvious shrinkage of the export market, resulting in a sharp decline in exports. According to statistics, in the first seven months of this year, our province’s clothing exports were 60.322 billion yuan, an increase of 3.6% , textile exports were 18.878 billion yuan, a decrease of 25.9%.
According to the analysis of the Fujian Textile and Garment Export Base Chamber of Commerce, the export volume of cotton and chemical fiber textile fabrics has been reduced and the price reduction has slowed down the growth rate of textile exports. The export value of Fujian decreased by 35.08%, that of Guangdong decreased by 10.25%, and that of Zhejiang and Jiangsu increased by 9.8% and 8.52% respectively.
It is understood that the main textile varieties in Fujian Province, such as cotton yarn, cotton cloth, and chemical fiber yarn and cloth, are mainly supplied to the Asian market. However, since the beginning of this year, most Asian markets, especially the Southeast Asian market, have been turbulent and demand has declined. Coupled with domestic raw material costs, Rising labor costs and declining product competitiveness have become important reasons for the sharp decline in Fujian Province’s textile exports.
