A few days ago, news came from the Anhui Provincial Department of Commerce that since this year, as a traditional labor-intensive industry, Anhui Province’s textile and clothing exports have been in good shape. In the first seven months, Anhui Province’s textile and clothing products exported US$2.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.55%, and the export volume accounted for 11.97% of Anhui Province’s total exports.
From a market perspective, affected by the increased demand in European and American markets, Anhui Province’s textile and apparel exports to Europe from January to July were US$597 million, a year-on-year increase of 14.95%; exports to the United States were US$432 million, a year-on-year increase of 21.43%. Europe and the United States have always been key markets that account for a large proportion of Anhui Province’s exports. Good exports to Europe and the United States have become an important factor in boosting the growth of textile and apparel product exports. “In the past few years, the export of industrial transfer enterprises was an important force in Anhui Province’s textile and garment exports. However, as labor and other costs continue to rise, future export increments may gradually decrease.” An official from the Anhui Provincial Department of Commerce said.
