Risk warning from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine: The quality of Australian cotton exported to China has declined

Recently, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine issued the “Notice on the Quality of Australian Cotton Exported to China”, reminding imported cotton companies to pay close attention to the quality of Australian cotton to avoid affecting the quality of processed products.
Australia is one of the world’s major cotton-producing countries. Australian cotton has the advantages of excellent fiber quality and good consistency, and is widely favored by Chinese textile companies. According to statistics, 832,000 tons of Australian cotton were tested in 2013, making it the third largest source of cotton imported into my country. However, with the recent arrival of new Australian cotton, inspection and quarantine departments have discovered that the quality of Australian cotton is significantly different from previous years. Since June 2014, a total of 281,500 tons of imported Australian cotton have been tested, and the average grade non-compliance rate has reached 21.9%, which is significantly higher than the average non-compliance rate of the total grade in the same period (12.8%).
