On August 15, 2014, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning on Chinese-made “XiaLinXing” brand children’s T-shirts. The notifying country in this case is Bulgaria. The children’s T-shirt has two straps about 200 mm long on each sleeve. The T-shirt features a girl’s face, flowers and colorful text: “SWEETLOVE, Sunkidsclub, happygirls, ModeBabyChildhood.” The style/model of this product is “SUNNY”, the barcode is 3136879381998278, and the OECD Portal Category code is 67000000 (clothing).
This children’s T-shirt may easily bring the risk of injury to children because the straps on the sleeves have no functional role and may instead cause harm to children. This product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN14682.
At present, the Bulgarian authorities have taken compulsory measures to withdraw this product from the market.
To this end, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this.
