It is estimated that in May 2014, the output of cotton fabrics will be 27.2 million square meters, the output of polyester and man-made fiber fabrics will be 59.2 million square meters, and the output of ready-made clothing will be 244.2 million pieces.
In April 2014, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports amounted to US$1.576 billion, a year-on-year increase of 26.69% and a month-on-month increase of 3.96%. Textile and apparel exports are expected to reach US$1.45 billion in May 2014.
As of April 2014, Vietnam’s cotton fabric production has accumulated to 101.8 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 11.01%; polyester and man-made fiber fabric production has been 214.8 million square meters, a year-on-year decrease of 10.46%; ready-made clothing production has been 923 million pieces, a year-on-year increase of 14.39% .
As of April 2014, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports totaled US$6.042 billion, a year-on-year increase of 19.71%.
