According to customs statistics, my country’s total textile machinery import and export volume from January to April 2014 was US$2.43 billion. Among them: textile machinery exports were US$939 million, a year-on-year increase of 25.22%; imports were US$1.490 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.08%.
Imports of textile machinery products increased year-on-year
From January to April 2014, my country imported textile machinery from 48 countries and regions, with a total import volume of US$1.49 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.08%.
From the perspective of imported product categories, imports of chemical fiber machinery rank first. The total import amount was US$360 million, a year-on-year increase of 34.23%. The import of weaving machinery was US$253 million, accounting for 21.79% of the total import; the import of spinning machinery was US$212 million, accounting for 14.25% of the total import. The specific situation is shown in the chart below.
From January to April 2014, the main countries and regions importing textile machinery were Germany, Japan, Italy, Belgium and Taiwan Province of China.
Among them, imported Japanese textile machinery ranked first, with an import value of US$504 million, a year-on-year increase of 17.75%, accounting for 33.81%. Germany ranked second with an import volume of US$482 million, a year-on-year increase of 10.78%.
From January to April 2014, 29 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country had varying amounts of imports. Among them, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Fujian and Shandong rank in the top five in terms of total import volume. Jiangsu Province’s total import volume ranked first at US$492 million, a year-on-year increase of 17.06%, accounting for 32.96%; the following table reflects the top five provinces and cities for textile machinery imports.
Exports of textile machinery products increased year-on-year
From January to April 2014, textile machinery exports were US$939 million, a year-on-year increase of 25.22%.
Customs statistics from January to April 2014 show the exports of textile machinery by major categories as follows: the export volume of knitting machinery was US$256 million, a year-on-year increase of 23.82%, accounting for 27.27%, ranking first, followed by auxiliary devices and Spare parts, printing and dyeing finishing machinery, spinning machinery, looms, chemical fiber machinery, etc.
From January to April 2013, chemical fiber machinery showed negative growth, and nonwoven equipment increased by 17.17% year-on-year.
