Bangladesh/Pre-financial clothing exports increased by .%

According to data released by the Export Promotion Bureau, Bangladesh’s ready-made garment exports in the first 10 months of the 2013/14 fiscal year were US$19.97 billion, an increase of 15.38% compared with US$17.307 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
In the first 10 months of the 2013/14 fiscal year (July-April), Bangladesh’s woven garment exports were US$10.166 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.91%, and knitwear exports soared 16.96% to US$9.803 billion.
Bangladesh has more than 5,000 garment factories, employing nearly 4.2 million workers. It is currently the world’s second largest garment exporter after China.
In the last fiscal year (2012/13 fiscal year), Bangladesh’s woven garment exports were worth US$11.039 billion and knitwear exports were worth US$1.0475 billion.
