Textile and apparel imports from China decline

WTA data shows that in February 2014, Japan imported US$6.32 billion in textiles and clothing from the world, a slight decrease of 0.74%. Among them, imports from China were US$4.16 billion, down 6.4%, and their share fell below 70% to 65.8%. Among the top ten import source countries/regions, 7 source countries achieved growth, with an increase rate between 10% and 60%, and none of them were Asian countries. Among them, the share of imports from Vietnam increased by 1 percentage point to 7.6%.
