Fujian’s textile and apparel exports exceeded US$100 million for the first time

According to Xiamen Customs, Fujian Province exported US$22.96 billion in textiles and clothing in 2013, a year-on-year increase of 22.3%, maintaining growth for five consecutive years.
Fujian is an important province in China’s textile and apparel industry. According to Xiamen Customs statistics, the province’s exports of clothing and clothing accessories in 2013 were US$16.47 billion, an increase of 19.3%; textile yarns, fabrics and products were US$6.49 billion, an increase of 30.5%.
Private enterprises have become the main force in Fujian’s textile and clothing exports. In 2013, Fujian private enterprises exported US$17.03 billion in textiles and clothing, an increase of 29.7%, accounting for 74.1% of the total export value during the same period. Foreign-invested enterprises and state-owned enterprises exported textiles and clothing of US$4.15 billion and US$1.78 billion respectively, a year-on-year increase of 11.3% and a decrease of 7.2%.
