Colombia plans to initiate safeguard measures investigation on cord fabrics

On January 13, the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Colombia sent a note to the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Colombia, notifying it that it had received an application from the domestic industry, requesting the import of nylon or other polyamide high-strength sand cord fabrics (tax numbers: 5902.1010, 5902.1090) initiated an investigation into safeguard measures under Government Order No. 1407 of 1999. The Foreign Trade Department of the Colombian Ministry of Trade and Industry will decide whether to launch the investigation after further study. Government Order No. 1407 stipulates that Colombia can implement the safeguard measures under the order on products of WTO members and increase the tax rate of the products under investigation to the bound tariff level.
