The first anti-dumping sunset review affirmative final recommendation for jute products produced or imported from Bangladesh and Nepal decided to continue to impose anti-dumping duties on the products involved in Bangladesh and Nepal for a period of 5 years, among which Bangladesh’s jute thread/rope is 0-162.45 US dollars/ton, jute bag is 0-138.97 US dollars/ton, burlap is 0-351.72 US dollars/ton, Nepal’s jute thread/rope is 15.36-28.72 US dollars/ton, yellow The price of gunny bags is 8.18-38.90 US dollars/ton, and the burlap price is 0-8.18 US dollars/ton. The products involved include multi-strand (folded) or cable and single-strand jute thread/rope, jute bags and burlap in various forms and sizes. This case involves products under Indian customs codes 5307, 5310, 5607, and 6305. This measure takes effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
On October 21, 2015, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued an announcement to launch an anti-dumping investigation into jute products originating in or imported from Bangladesh and Nepal. On October 20, 2016, India made a final anti-dumping ruling on the case. On January 5, 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance and Revenue Bureau issued notification No. 01/2017-Customs (ADD), deciding to impose anti-dumping duties on jute products from Bangladesh and Nepal. On June 28, 2021, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry launched the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation into jute products originating in or imported from Bangladesh and Nepal. On September 30, 2022, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India issued an announcement to make the first affirmative final ruling on the sunset review of anti-dumping for jute products originating in or imported from Bangladesh and Nepal.
