In March 2022, the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade announced new measures and revised the list of products subject to foreign control, adding clothing fabrics to the list of products controlled by origin. Clothing fabrics must comply with Morocco’s technical specifications (NM09.0.000:2018) and obtain a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) before entering the Moroccan market. This certificate must be presented upon arrival of the goods and must be presented before the goods can be cleared through customs.
Before May 7, 2022 (the date the goods arrive in Morocco), clothing fabrics without certificates can still enter the country’s market.
Concerning industrial products controlled by Morocco, products found to be non-compliant after the first sampling control can be analyzed a second time at the request of the importer. conformity assessment. The ministry stipulates that this measure will be approved on the condition that it includes 2 samplings and the test results must meet the requirements. In addition, if at least one of these two results proves to be non-compliant, the goods will not be approved to enter the market.
