Since this year, Liangshan has set its sights on provincial and state sericulture goals and tasks, taking key tasks as the starting point, and taking multiple measures to expand the scale of the sericulture industry and improve the quality and efficiency of development.
Focus on the protection and utilization of mulberry germplasm resources. While continuing to build a good mulberry propagation base in Mianning County, we have built three mulberry germplasm resource nurseries and product comparison gardens in Ningnan, Dechang and the Zhou Silkworm Breeding Farm respectively to accelerate the introduction, pilot and production of new mulberry varieties. Cultivate and strive to create a good mulberry tree propagation base based in Liangshan and radiating to Panxi.
Introduction, testing and promotion of new varieties of silkworms. The pus-resistant silkworm variety bred by the State Silkworm Breeding Farm and the China Silkworm Research Institute has been homozygously fixed. Trial breeding of the mother species will be carried out this spring, and performance and trait tests will be conducted in late autumn to strive for application for variety identification next year. In addition, this year’s spring silkworm pilot trials of Chuanshan × Shushui and artificial feed silkworm varieties were carried out in Ningnan and Huidong counties, and more than 12,000 male silkworm varieties were introduced and promoted. At present, the introduction, testing and promotion of new silkworm varieties are progressing in an orderly manner.
Use both intercropping and fruit leaves in mulberry orchards. This year, Liangshan has carried out large-scale and standardized planting demonstrations of 5,000 acres of grain and mulberry crops in Ningnan, Huidong, Dechang and other places. In Dechang, it has continued to increase training on fruit mulberry summer cutting to ensure an increase in the area for both fruit and leaf use.
Focus on the intelligent co-education room renovation. The focus is on three changes: first, facilities and equipment. Heating and cooling, humidification, ventilation, silkworm boxes, co-incubation vehicles, etc. are equipped with sufficient silkworm boxes and silkworm nets to ensure full coverage of the five boxes. The past sporadic and scattered co-cultivation has been changed to centralized co-cultivation, and the number of co-cultivation in a season has reached more than 100. Focus on the construction of new sericulture greenhouses and sericulture complexes. Taking towns or natural villages as units, by striving for project funds or enterprise-owned funds, we will build large-scale and standardized new sericulture greenhouses and sericulture complexes, and rent them to sericulture farmers for free or at low prices, with sufficient facilities and equipment. Sericulture, reduce the cost of sericulture for silkworm farmers, transform from sporadic and dispersed sericulture to large-scale, standardized, factory-based sericulture, greenhouses into workshops, and sericulture farmers into employees. Centralized management, unified guidance, and standardized production realize the transformation and upgrading of traditional sericulture into modern sericulture.
Focus on the construction of modern agricultural parks. Focus on the cultivation and creation of national, provincial and state-level parks in Ningnan, Huidong, Dechang, Puge, Ganluo and other places, and promote the construction of modern grain, mulberry, mulberry tourism and seed industry parks.
Catching silkworm seed production and inspection and quarantine. This year it is planned to produce 800,000 first-generation hybrids of silkworms, and the production of spring silkworms is currently in full swing.
In addition, Liangshan has done a good job in ensuring funds, technology, materials and other aspects for the development of the sericulture industry. Up to now, Ningnan, Puge, Ganluo and other places have coordinated more than 50 million yuan in rural revitalization linkage funds and east-west cooperation funds to support high-quality sericulture bases, sericulture facilities, mulberry operation roads and irrigation canal systems, and modern agriculture. The construction of the park and sericulture complex has played a positive role in consolidating the industrial foundation, improving sericulture conditions, and promoting industrial development. The state organized and transported 7,308 tons of disinfectant drugs, 1,419 sets of labor-saving silkworm tables, 520,000 cardboard grid clusters, 6,466 tons of special fertilizer for sericulture, and conducted technical training for 30,446 people.

Since the beginning of this year, on the basis of doing the above work well, all counties and cities have seized the favorable opportunity and made every effort to do a good job in spring prevention and management of mulberry gardens, which mainly includes fertilization and irrigation, pest control, and grafting of good mulberries. Counties and cities such as Ningnan and Xichang have more actively explored intensive sericulture models and raised funds to build new specialized sericulture “complexes.” They have done a lot of exploration and practice to promote intensive and professional sericulture and innovate sericulture models.
In Ningnan, Huidong, Dechang and other places, more than 5,000 acres of mulberry orchards interplanted with soybeans, corns, potatoes, etc. have been implemented to coordinate large-scale and standardized planting demonstration films, injecting an injection into promoting the comprehensive output value of mulberry orchards across the state. new energy.
Mulberries are growing well in Dechang, Mianning and other places, and the production and sales of mulberries have generally stabilized since they were put on the market. The production of silkworm seeds is proceeding smoothly. Each silkworm breeding farm arranges to produce 400,000 silkworm seeds in spring, accounting for 50% of the total annual production. The state silkworm seed quality inspection station has now completed the quarantine of 134 batches of 219,200 finished silkworm seeds.
The state has completed the construction of 1,020 acres of high-quality mulberry gardens, 59 new and technologically improved small silkworm breeding rooms, and 242 large silkworm rooms. There were 105,000 spring silkworm seeds released from the warehouse across the state, an increase of 5,600 silkworm seeds compared with the same period last year, an increase of 5%. The trend of increased production and income is obvious.
