On May 12, 2017, Health Canada and Groupe Lemur Inc. jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made baby one-piece pajamas.
The recalled products are various models of Pekkle baby one-piece pajamas, equipped with metal buckles. This pajama is made of 100% cotton and comes in 6 sizes: 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 18 months, and 24 months. The product batch number is printed on the sewn label on the inside of the left leg of the garment. The batch numbers of the recalled products are as follows,
The recalled products with batch number C62 were sold from March 15, 2017 to April 14, 2017, and the products with batch number C63 were sold from February 13, 2017 to April 14, 2017. . The recalled product sold 79,305 units at Costco retail stores in Canada. The reason for the recall is that the metal buckles on the recalled pajamas are easy to fall off, and children may accidentally eat them, posing a risk of suffocation or cuts. As of May 8, 2017, the company has received three reports of incidents, including one involving a cut on an infant.
Health Canada advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled products and return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund. Canada implements voluntary recall of Chinese baby one-piece pajamas
