On April 30, 2009, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Pumpkin Patch Company jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made Pumpkin Patch girls’ hooded raincoats.

The recalled raincoat is a short-top style, red, with a drawstring on the hood, and the size is 2-10. The raincoat was sold in Pumpkin Patch stores across the United States from July 2008 to February 2009, with a unit price of US$50 per piece.

The number of products recalled this time is about 800. The reason for the recall is that the drawstring on the hood of the raincoat poses a stranglehold hazard to children. To date, Pumpkin Patch has not received any reports of incidents.

For this reason, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that consumers immediately pull out the drawstring on the raincoat hood to eliminate the danger, or contact Pumpkin Patch for a full refund.
