On April 30, 2009, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Gap Company jointly announced a voluntary recall of baby Gap children’s jackets produced in China and Indonesia.

There are three types of coats recalled this time, namely rose red Toggle Hoodie (style number 600298), pink Duffle Coat (style number 600344), blue Plaid and Mojave Toggle Coat (style number 600942), suitable for 24 people Wearable for infants and young children under 1 month old, made of cotton, polyester, polyester/acrylic. The included plastic toggle is light brown and is approximately 1.75 inches long. The jacket was sold in babyGap stores, GapKids stores, Gap stores and the website www.gap.com from October 2008 to April 2009, with a unit price of US$20-50 per piece.

The number of products recalled this time is approximately 23,100 (19,200 in the United States and 3,900 in Canada). The reason for the recall is that the plastic toggle of the jacket is easy to break, which may cause a choking hazard to infants and young children if swallowed by mistake. Gap has not received any reports of incidents so far.

For this reason, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that consumers immediately keep the recalled coats away from infants and young children, and contact any retail store for returns and full refunds.
