Myanmar expands cotton planting area

According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Myanmar, the planting area of ​​long-staple cotton No. 6 in Myanmar will reach 500,000 acres in 2009-2010. This variety is resistant to pests, regardless of season, and has high yields. Therefore, the planting area is expanding year by year across Myanmar. The planting area of ​​long-staple cotton No. 6 was only 648 acres in 2006-2007, expanded to 21,449 acres in 2007-2008, and reached 260,399 acres in 2008-2009.
