Mauritius textile and garment industry investment 100 million rupees

According to a survey by the Mauritius Ministry of Industrial Science and Research, despite the global economic downturn, investment in the textile and garment industry in Mauritius in 2009 will still reach 440 million rupees (approximately US$13.75 million) and will create approximately 2,065 jobs. In addition, the Ministry of Industrial Science and Research also provides necessary support and convenience to promote employment opportunities in the textile industry through the manufacturing adjustment and small and medium-sized enterprise development funds and economic stimulus packages.
