The Pakistan Tariff Commission (NTC) issued an announcement on its official website on February 6, making a preliminary ruling on the anti-dumping case of Chinese polyester fiber. The announcement believed that China’s polyester fiber exports to Pakistan were dumped, and decided to impose a temporary anti-dumping tax on Chinese exports at a rate of 10.44% for a period of four months from the date of the announcement. Among them, two companies, Jiangyin Huahong Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. and Zhangjiagang Chengxing Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd., responded to the lawsuit and achieved preliminary success. Pakistan announced that because its dumping margin is below the minimum concession standard (2%), it has been ruled to temporarily exempt it from temporary anti-dumping duties.

It is reported that Pakistan launched an anti-dumping investigation into Chinese polyester fiber in July 2008. After this preliminary ruling, relevant stakeholders can apply for a hearing within the prescribed period according to Pakistan’s anti-dumping laws and request other relevant information from the NTC.
