According to Pakistan’s “Dawn” report, Pakistan announced on February 6 that it would impose temporary anti-dumping duties on polyester fibers originating or imported from China. The tax rate range is 0-10.44% of the CIF price. This temporary tax measure is effective for 6 months before the final anti-dumping duties are introduced. The main purpose is to protect Pakistan’s domestic polyester fiber manufacturers. On July 28, 2008, the National Tariff Commission of Pakistan accepted the application submitted by three domestic polyester fiber manufacturers in Pakistan on behalf of the entire industry, and launched an anti-dumping investigation against 54 Chinese polyester fiber exporters, but only 2 Chinese polyester fiber exporters manufacturers (manufacturers) to respond to the questionnaires they sent out. After performing due procedures, the committee believed that Chinese exporters had engaged in dumping behavior and caused damage to Pakistan’s domestic industry. However, in an official statement, the committee stated that relevant stakeholders affected by this preliminary ruling can appeal 30 days before the final ruling is issued.
