The President of Turkmenistan cuts the ribbon for the China-aided velvet factory project

On October 22, the opening ceremony of the Turkmen velvet factory project implemented by China Shanxi Zhongxu International Trade Industrial Co., Ltd. was grandly held in Rukhbat District, Turkmen Ahal Prefecture. More than 2,000 people including the President of Turkmenistan, Speaker of the Parliament, all Deputy Prime Ministers of the Cabinet, foreign envoys stationed in Turkmenistan, and people from all walks of life in Turkmenistan attended the celebration.

In his speech, the President of Turkmenistan spoke highly of the importance of the velvet factory project in the revival of Turkmen silk industry and economic and social development. The President of Turkmenistan said that the velvet factory project is an important cooperation project between the Chinese and Turkmen governments and a symbol of friendship between the two countries. It will not only fill the gap in the Turkmen silk industry and realize the desire of Turkmen women to wear domestically produced velvet, but will also provide 550 jobs, which will help solve local labor and employment problems. The President of Turkmenistan firmly believes that the velvet factory project will exert good economic and social benefits and become a model of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

During the visit, the President of Turkmenistan had a cordial conversation with Chinese and Turkmen employees, and learned in detail about the performance of the equipment, process flow, and the working and living conditions of the workers. He also expressed his opinions on the quality of the equipment provided by China, the modernization of the factory, and the cooperation and collaboration between Chinese and Turkmen employees. The spirit is fully affirmed.

That night, Turkmenistan’s national television reported the grand opening ceremony of the velvet factory project in its prime-time news column. The Turkmen government organ “Zhongli” also published a relevant report on the front page the next day, and distributed a picture of the Turkmen President and the Chinese Ambassador to Turkmenistan Wu Hongbin jointly cutting the ribbon for the project.
