Brazil’s textile industry reacts to China’s increase in export tax rebate rates for some commodities

Although the recent appreciation of the U.S. dollar has increased import costs and China has increased the export tax rebate rate for some commodities, the Brazilian textile and toy industry has still responded and requested the government to take countermeasures.

Costa, chairman of the Brazilian Toy Industry Association, said that China is worried about its companies, but our government has no similar measures. Chinese toys, which have already occupied 50% of the Brazilian market, will be more competitive. Diniz, chairman of the Brazilian Textile Industry Association, said that China’s incentive measures are a kind of dumping behavior, and Brazil should take more stringent protective measures against Chinese goods.
