Vietnam imported nearly 10,000 tons of cotton last month

According to Vietnam’s “Materials News”, Vietnam imported 195,600 tons of cotton in the first eight months of 2008, with a value of US$301 million, a year-on-year increase of 27.1% in quantity and 58% in value respectively.

It is reported that in the first eight months of 2008, Vietnam imported 69,200 tons of U.S. cotton (accounting for 35.4% of Vietnam’s total cotton imports), with an amount of US$106 million. The quantity and amount increased by 57.6% and 96.8% respectively year-on-year.
