After the silk threads are strongly twisted, initial shrinkage must occur. The twist shrinkage causes irregular and slight displacements of the warp and weft intersection points, forming a crepe effect, such as georgette crepe, crepe de chine, smooth fiber weaving and Twill weave and crepe satin varieties are made by interlacing the warps and wefts with strong twists or untwisted wefts with strong twists, so that the weave threads shrink and curl, producing a crepe effect. 2. The use of crepe weave to form crepe fabrics The crepe weave uses floating lengths of uneven warp and weft lengths to be arranged in a staggered manner. The long floating weave points with a relaxed structure are slightly raised between the short floating weave points with a tighter structure, forming a fine granular shape. The fabric develops a crepe effect. 3. Use post-finishing technology to form crepe effect, such as embossing to form concave and convex, and caustic soda treatment to form bubble crepe. There are many types of crepe silk fabrics. The main crepe varieties are: (1) Crepe de Chine: After untwisting or weak twisting, the weft yarn is combined with two or more single yarns and then strongly twisted. The twist direction is divided into two parts. One left-twisted thread and two right-twisted threads are woven alternately, and the fabric structure is a plain weave. After the fabric is refined, due to the interaction of the left and right torsional forces of the silk threads, the silk surface has a vague and fine uniform crepe pattern. The fabric is soft and silky. It has a beautiful appearance, good anti-wrinkle performance, soft hand feel, light weight and coolness. (2) Smooth crepe: The warp yarn is untwisted, and the weft yarn is strongly twisted in the same direction and adopts a plain weave or a changed weave. After refining, the weft yarn generates a torsional force in one direction, thereby making the fabric wrinkle larger and the crepe pattern becomes a longitudinal wicker. Shape, smooth fabric style is generous, rough and bold, suitable for women’s summer shirt fabrics.
