On August 2, 2017, the U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC), Health Canada and SweetBamboo jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made children’s pajama sets.
The recalled children’s pajamas set is made of 50% polyester and 50% viscose bamboo. It comes in two pieces, consisting of a short-sleeved top and a pair of pajamas. The pajama set comes in four styles: dark blue plaid, light blue plaid, purple plaid and black polka dots. The top has a row of white buttons on the front and an elastic waistband at the bottom. The sizes of the set are 12~18 months, 18 months~24 months, 2T, 3T, 4T, 5 years old and 6 years old.
Approximately 500 units of the recalled products were sold in children’s product stores and the www.mysweetbamboo.com online store in the United States from February 2016 to May 2017. The unit price is about $40. This product does not meet the requirements of the US Federal Regulations on Flammability Standards for Apparel and Textiles and may cause burns. So far, no reports of accidents or personal injuries related to this product have been received.
