The products involved include 11 European standards and 3 standards jointly developed with the International Standards Organization (ISO), including FFP masks, goggles, protective clothing, surgical gowns, disposable medical gloves, hazardous chemicals and microbial protective gloves. Under normal circumstances, European standards are intellectual property products of standardization organizations and require manufacturers to purchase them.
Previously, the European Commission also issued an official announcement stating that in response to the current epidemic, for personal protective equipment that has not obtained European standards, as long as these products can ensure an adequate level of protection , comply with the basic health and safety requirements stipulated by EU law, and the EU can also adopt the protective product standards recommended by WHO as the basis for conformity assessment.
