Cambodia’s Ministry of Labor stated that Chinese textile raw materials have recently arrived in Cambodia, and a total of 7 factories have applied to resume production. Due to lack of raw materials, more than 50 factories across the country applied to suspend production from February to March, resulting in a total of 20,940 workers losing their jobs, 16,183 of whom were women. The arrival of textile raw materials will solve the problem of lack of raw materials in some factories and restore production mode.
Prime Minister Hun Sen announced that China has prepared seven ships to transport textile raw materials to supply Cambodian factories to solve the shortage of raw materials in Cambodia due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic. The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia also announced that China is taking rapid action to help solve the shortage of textile raw materials in Cambodia and help Cambodia minimize losses.
