According to a report by the United News Agency of Pakistan on January 10: The Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform of Pakistan has been authorized by the government to provide agricultural development under the Public Sector Development Plan (PSDP) in the 2019/20 fiscal year. The project allocation is 5.762 billion rupees. At the same time, the authorities also authorized the release of initial funds under the Prime Minister’s Agriculture Emergency Project to enhance Pakistan’s agriculture and livestock industries.
According to data released by the Public Sector Development Plan, of the total allocation of 1,204.7 billion rupees, 5.762 billion rupees were used for research and development projects of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, 2.75 billion rupees Rs 5.5 billion will be used for water resources protection, Rs 300 million will be used for the National Oilseed Improvement Project, Rs 400 million will be used to promote aquaculture and shrimp farming, and Rs 30 million will be used for the Prime Minister’s proposal for backyard poultry farming, Rs 80 million for calf rescue breeding and Rs 100 million for trout farming in northern districts. At the same time, to increase the output of major crops, 200 million rupees have been allocated for rice, 100 million rupees for sugarcane, 325 million rupees for increasing wheat production, and 40 million rupees for increasing cotton production.
