On December 13, 2019, Health Canada announced a recall of children’s coats made in China and Turkey.
The recalled products are children’s jackets. The hoodie is made in Turkey, model number NU2320, has a drawstring at the neck, and is available in black, pink, and gray; the parka is made in China, model number NU2384, has a drawstring at the waist, and is black.
The drawstring on the hood of this product may become entangled or stuck on playground equipment, fences, vehicles or other objects, posing a suffocation hazard to children.
The products recalled were sold in Canada from July 15th to December 15th, 2019. About 13 products were sold.
As of December 9, 2019, no reports of accidents or casualties have been received.
Health Canada advises consumers to remove drawstrings from clothing immediately to eliminate hidden dangers.
