The inauguration ceremony of the first council of the China Textile Association in Cambodia and the second council of the Cambodian Chinese Chamber of Commerce Textile Enterprises Association was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The association is an industry association under the China Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia. It currently has 108 members, involving textile, shoemaking, luggage and other related industries. The association will continue to be committed to strengthening cooperation in the textile industry between China and Cambodia.
Wu Guoquan, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, said that the relations between China and Cambodia have continued to reach a new level, with closer economic and trade cooperation and more fully integrated interests. China is Cambodia’s largest source of investment, and the textile sector is an important part of it. Chinese-funded enterprises provide Cambodia with a large number of jobs, train a large number of skilled workers and management talents, and play an important role in Cambodia’s social and economic development and in improving and improving the living standards of the Cambodian people.
Champulasi, Minister of Industry and Handicrafts of Cambodia, said that the textile and garment industry plays a very important role in Cambodia’s economic development process, not only creating the largest share for Cambodia exports and create a large number of employment opportunities. He hopes that the association can attract more companies in related industries to invest in Cambodia, and the Cambodian government will also provide more convenience and support.
He Enjia, president of the Textile Association, said that Chinese-funded enterprises accounted for more than 70% of all textile enterprises in Cambodia and accounted for 52.5% of all exports, directly creating nearly 500,000 jobs. Since its establishment, the association has cooperated with many Cambodian government departments to jointly formulate industry standards and development plans, continuously improve the business environment, and also actively promote Cambodia’s investment environment to domestic enterprises and carry out school-enterprise cooperation.
