In 2018, Huangmei County Textile Industrial Park was upgraded to a national textile industrial transfer demonstration park. In July of the same year, the county introduced a total investment of 2 billion yuan to build Baiheng Textile Technology Industrial Park, creating a new highland for the textile industry. After nearly 4 years of construction, the first phase of the project construction tasks has been completed and 10 standardized industrial plants have been built. Currently, 16 water-jet weaving companies from Wujiang, Jiangsu have signed contracts to settle in the industrial park, and 10 companies have gone into production.
Dai Lianming, deputy director of the Huangmei Economic Development Zone Management Committee, said that after the two-phase project of this industrial park is completed and reaches capacity, it will have 20 standardized industrial plants, which can accommodate more than 30 textile companies and more than 10,000 water-jet looms. , the output value exceeds 1.5 billion yuan, and the tax revenue exceeds 20 million yuan.
In recent years, nearly 70% of textile and apparel companies are accelerating their transfer to the central and western regions due to continued cost growth and a new round of technological equipment upgrading in the textile and apparel agglomeration areas, mainly in the eastern coastal areas. Facing the development opportunities brought by industrial transfer, Huangmei adheres to the “one game of chess” thinking, clarifies the industrial development ideas, introduces preferential policies, attracts textile and garment enterprises to invest and build factories in Huangmei, and takes advantage of the situation to expand the scale of the textile and garment industry.
After investing in the construction of Baiheng Textile Technology Industrial Park, Huang Jinbei, the head of the Southern Fujian Chamber of Commerce, took a fancy to Huangmei’s superior resources and environment. In early 2019, he transferred a 100,000-spindle textile enterprise in Shishi, Fujian to Huangmei and established Hubei BEISIXIANG TEXTILE CO., LTD. The company is expected to have an output value of 200 million yuan in 2021 and contribute 3 million yuan in tax revenue. From settlement to construction and production, Huangmei provides preferential policy services and factor guarantees to foreign textile and garment enterprises to enhance regional attractiveness. In recent years, Huangmei County Economic Development Zone has undertaken the transfer of 28 textile companies.
The relevant person in charge of the management committee of the development zone said: “We will strive to achieve an annual output value of more than 10 billion yuan in Huangmei’s textile and garment industry by the end of the ’14th Five-Year Plan’, including 1 million spinning spindles and 20,000 looms.
