Textile and apparel exports in September did not continue the downward trend in August, but stopped falling and rebounded. According to data released by the General Administration of Customs, exports in September were 158.81 billion yuan in RMB, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%. The growth was mainly driven by textiles, with textile exports reaching 59.97 billion yuan, an increase of 17.2%. The main reason for the growth is that the same period last year was affected by special factors, the year-on-year base was low, and it was a restorative growth. The export volume has not yet reached the level of the same period in 2015. Clothing exports declined, with exports reaching 98.84 billion yuan, down 0.8%.
In the first three quarters, the cumulative exports of textiles and clothing were 1,357.59 billion yuan, an increase of 5.4%, of which textile exports were 551.89 billion yuan, an increase of 7.6%, and clothing exports were 805.7 billion yuan, an increase of 4%.
The current external factors affecting textile and apparel exports have not significantly improved or worsened, and the overall situation has stabilized. It is expected that exports throughout the year will be the same as last year or have a higher chance of achieving slight growth. Exports are recovering and growing driven by textiles, with a cumulative growth of 5% in the third quarter
