On May 22, 2015, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning on Chinese-made “HollyWork” brand children’s trousers. The notifying country in this case is Bulgaria. The product notified this time is children’s sports trousers with an adjustable drawstring at the waist. The trousers are suitable for children aged 8 to 14 years old. The style/model number of the above product is XW-9892. The above products belong to 67000000 (clothing) in the OECD Portal Category.
The above-mentioned children’s trousers can easily bring the risk of injury to children. When children are active, the drawstring that can be stretched freely at the waist may cause harm to children. This product does not comply with the relevant European standard EN14682.
At present, the Bulgarian authorities have taken compulsory measures to withdraw the above products from the market.
