According to a report by India’s “Economic Times” on April 29, the Ministry of Textiles of India has informed various diplomatic missions abroad, including the embassies and consulates in Indonesia and Thailand, to explore ways to increase India’s cotton exports.
From February to April 2015, India’s total raw cotton exports fell by 41.32% year-on-year, and total exports fell by 46.6% year-on-year. The decline in export sales of raw cotton has adversely affected its domestic market prices.
