Danish fashion apparel retailers actively explore international markets

According to Denmark’s “Copenhagen Post” report, fashion clothing retailer Bestseller, the operator of clothing brands such as VeroModa and Jack & Jones in Denmark, is actively expanding into a broader international market outside of China. According to reports, the company has successfully established itself in the Chinese market and has become one of the largest Danish companies in this huge market. It has set up 6,500 brand clothing stores in more than 400 cities and has 80,000 employees, 90% of whom are women. The company’s next target is the U.S. market. It has currently set up a sales representative office, an online store and a showroom in Manhattan, striving to grab its own share of the U.S. fashion market with a market size of up to 2 trillion Danish kroner. VeroModa brand sales director Jerome Rolland told the media that development in the United States will face a completely different market environment than Europe. For this reason, the company has been exploring development in Canada for ten years and is preparing to use it as a gateway and springboard to enter the U.S. market. Recently, the brand has reached cooperation agreements with nearly 30 small and medium-sized chain stores. It is also reported that Bestseller launched a global charity donation event called “Give-A-Day” on April 10, advocating that the company’s customers donate used clothing products to charity. The organization has raised 112 million crowns, which will be donated to international charities such as Save the Children, the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). Mogens Werge, Director of Sustainability and Public Relations at Bestseller, said that this is the best way for Bestseller to give back to society, and the company is honored to bring some positive changes to the surrounding world.
