Due to strong demand from foreign markets, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports reached US$1.5 billion in February 2015, a year-on-year increase of 43.5%, marking the 24th consecutive month of year-on-year growth. The cumulative export value from January to February this year was US$3.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.8%, the highest value for the same period in history.
At the same time, Vietnam’s cotton import volume in 2014/15 will also hit a new high. According to statistics, in the past fifteen years, Vietnam’s textile and clothing exports have increased year-on-year fourteen times from January to February. It is expected that Vietnam’s total textile and clothing exports will reach US$24 billion this year, which is the 20th time in 21 years that the highest record has been set. From this point of view, Vietnam’s gauze imports will hit a record high this year, which is good news for major gauze exporting countries.
