German clothing and textiles have recovered, with revenue increasing by .% year-on-year

According to the German media Textilwirtschaft, in 2014, the revenue of the German clothing and textile industry increased by 2.1 percentage points year-on-year compared with the previous year, which was higher than the initial 1.8% expected by the German Production Federation. However, satisfaction with the performance of the entire euro zone has been affected by the huge decline in trade in Russia and Ukraine.
According to data from the German Federal Statistical Office, the total revenue of apparel and textile industry companies with more than 50 employees in 2014 was approximately 17 billion euros, of which 10 billion came from the textile industry. If smaller enterprises are included, the size of the entire German clothing and textile industry is about 28 billion euros.
