According to data from the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles, in January, my country’s total exports of silk products were US$298.8748 million, a year-on-year decrease of 15.61%. However, Sichuan Province’s exports of silk garments and silk manufactured products bucked the trend and increased significantly, with both export volume and export value increasing significantly, becoming a bright spot.
In January, my country’s silk exports declined. Among them, silk exports were US$57.5168 million, a year-on-year decrease of 8.87%; silk exports were US$78.3639 million, a year-on-year decrease of 24.38%; silk manufactured exports were US$162.9941 million, a year-on-year increase of 54.54%. The top five markets in terms of export volume are: the United States, Italy, India, Pakistan, and Japan. The five major markets together account for 47.25% of my country’s total exports of silk products.
In January, in terms of silk clothing exports, my country exported a total of 9.6946 million pieces (sets) of silk clothing, a year-on-year decrease of 20.82%, and the export value was US$117.729 million, a year-on-year decrease of 11.35%. The number of silk garments exported by Sichuan was 86,600 pieces (sets), a year-on-year increase of 57.56%, and the export value was US$7.609 million, a year-on-year increase of 76.28%. In terms of exports of silk products, my country’s total exports of silk products were 18.2672 million items (pieces and sets), a year-on-year decrease of 22.45%; the export value was US$162.994 million, a year-on-year decrease of 13.03%. Sichuan Province exported 2.288 million pieces (units and sets) of silk products, a year-on-year increase of 41.19%, and the export value was US$10.039 million, a year-on-year increase of 57.6%.
