The return rate of Zhejiang’s exported industrial products has increased, concentrated in textile and other industries

We learned from the Zhejiang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau that in 2014, the Zhejiang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau inspected a total of 2,192 batches of exported industrial product returns within its jurisdiction, with a value of US$107.6252 million, a year-on-year increase of 20.5% and 34.94% respectively; including 324 batches of export legal inspection return goods. , with a value of approximately US$16.1434 million, accounting for 14.78% and 15% of the total batch and value respectively.
Quality problems are the main reason for returns. There were 1,828 returned batches due to quality reasons in Zhejiang, accounting for 83.34% of all returned batches, an increase of 22.1% compared with 2013; among them, the number of returned batches due to safety, sanitation, and environmental protection items that did not meet the requirements of the importing country accounted for 83.34% of the total returned batches. 3.45% of all batches returned for quality reasons, and 86.04% of all batches returned for quality reasons whose quality and performance did not meet standards or contract requirements.
Export returns are mainly concentrated in the mechanical and electrical industry, textile and light industry, and chemical industry. The batches and amount of export returns of mechanical and electrical products were 1,053 batches and US$48.178 million respectively, accounting for 47.99% and 44.77% of the total export return batches and amount; the batches and amount of light industrial product returns were 331 batches and US$12.0835 million respectively, accounting for 47.99% and 44.77% of the total export returns. 15.1% and 11.22% of the total export return batches and amounts.
