The rapid growth of woven clothing drives the growth of clothing exports

In 2014, my country exported 35.5 billion pieces of clothing, a year-on-year increase of 7%; the value of clothing exports was US$159.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%. The growth rate of clothing export volume was 1.8 percentage points higher than the export value. Among them, woven garment exports were 13.3 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 25%, export value was US$77.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.3%, and the average export unit price was US$5.84/piece, a year-on-year decrease of 3.76%; knitted garment exports were 22.2 billion items, a year-on-year decrease of 2%. , the export value was US$81.7 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 6%, and the average export unit price was US$3.68 per piece, a year-on-year decrease of 4%. The average export unit price of needle-knitted and woven garments both dropped by nearly 4 percentage points. Data show that the growth in the value of my country’s clothing exports is mainly driven by the rapid growth in the number of woven clothing. It reflects that the structural adjustment of China’s clothing export products and the transformation and upgrading of enterprises still have a long way to go. The government needs to further increase support for the transformation and upgrading of clothing export enterprises. efforts to improve the competitiveness of garment enterprises in the international market.
