Vietnam’s textile industry production index grew .%

According to a report from the General Bureau of Statistics of Vietnam, Vietnam’s industrial production index in January this year (2015) increased by 17.5% compared with the same period last year, but decreased by 2.8% compared with December last year.
Specifically, among the primary industrial industries, compared with the same period last year, the mining industry grew by 10.7%, accounting for 3.8 percentage points; the processing and manufacturing industry grew by 19.4%, accounting for 12.3 percentage points; power production and supply grew by 20.9%, accounting for 1.2 percentage points; Water supply and wastewater and garbage treatment grew by 9.5%, accounting for 0.2%.
Among the secondary industrial industries in January this year, certain industries that grew compared with the same period last year include: the production of vehicles with engines grew by 57.6%; electronics, computers and optics grew by 46.4%; textiles grew by 33.8%; metal production grew by 31.3%; and casting metals Products (excluding machinery) increased by 30.8%; products of non-metallic minerals increased by 29.2%.
Compared with the same period last year, the industrial production index in January this year in Taiyuan Province increased significantly by 523.5%, due to the expansion of Samsung’s factory in Taiyuan Province; Quang Nam Province also increased by 46.4%. However, Quang Ngai and Bac Ninh provinces declined by 22.4% and 29.2% respectively.
