According to data from the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles, the cumulative exports of silk, gray silk, silk clothing, silk products, and real silk commodities from January to December are as follows:
1. Silk exports: From January to December, my country exported a total of 13,384.6 tons of silk products, a year-on-year decrease of 10.52%, and the average unit price was 45.93 US dollars/kg, a year-on-year increase of 2.55%. The top five markets by export volume are: India, Italy, Japan, Vietnam, and Romania, with market shares of 30.73%, 13.1%, 12.98%, 8%, and 7.85% respectively. The country’s total export volume was US$614.741 million, a year-on-year decrease of 8.23%. The top six major exporting provinces and cities in terms of export volume are Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangxi, Guangdong, and Sichuan, with market shares of 28.69%, 21.9%, 11.37%, 10.61%, 6.98%, and 6.24%. The export value of Sichuan silk products was US$38.341 million, a year-on-year decrease of 26.81%, and the export quantity was 816.39 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 21.93%.
2. Export of gray silk: From January to December, my country exported a total of 116.9426 million meters of gray silk, a year-on-year decrease of 7.38%. The average unit price was US$5.28/meter, a year-on-year increase of 2.95%. The total export volume was US$617.637 million, a year-on-year decrease of 4.65%. . The top five export markets are Pakistan, Italy, India, South Korea, and Hong Kong, with market shares of 24.68%, 22.8%, 11.32%, 7.52%, and 6.04% respectively. The top five provinces and cities in terms of export volume are Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Qinghai, and Shandong. The cumulative export volume of the five provinces and cities accounted for 79.51% of the total export volume. The export quantity of Sichuan Province’s gray silk was 16.2156 million meters, a year-on-year increase of 3.77%, accounting for 13.87%. The export unit price was 4.73 US dollars/meter, a year-on-year increase of 6.79%; the export value was 76.743 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 10.82%.
3. Silk clothing exports: From January to December, my country exported a total of 90.8603 million pieces (sets) of silk clothing, a year-on-year decrease of 71.4%, and the export value was US$1,025.469 million, a year-on-year decrease of 21.6%. The top five markets by export volume are the United States, Hong Kong, Germany, Japan, and Spain, with their market shares being 32.4%, 9.51%, 5.86%, 5.85%, and 4.8% respectively. The top five provinces and cities in export volume are: Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Sichuan, with the five markets accounting for 85.98% of the total share. The number of silk garments exported by Sichuan was 4.67 million pieces (sets), a year-on-year decrease of 78.94%, and the export value was US$22.507 million, a year-on-year decrease of 54.6%.
4. Export of silk products: From January to December, my country’s total exports of silk products were 191.593 million items (units, sets), a year-on-year decrease of 55.63%; the export value was US$1,557.542 million, a year-on-year decrease of 16.83%. The top five markets by export volume are the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany, and the Russian Federation. Their market shares are: 31.36%, 7.37%, 6.94%, 5.84%, and 4.41%. The top five provinces and cities in terms of export volume are: Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Sichuan. The exports of the five provinces and cities accounted for 81.92% of the total exports. Sichuan Province exported 6.527 million pieces (units and sets) of silk products, a year-on-year decrease of 73.43%. The export value was US$37.716 million, a year-on-year decrease of 43.49%, accounting for 2.42%.
5. Exports of silk products: From January to December, my country’s total exports of silk products were US$3,079.743 million, a year-on-year decrease of 12.19%. Among them, silk exports were US$614.1136 million, a year-on-year decrease of 8.24%; silk exports were US$907.4595 million, a year-on-year decrease of 5.93%; silk manufactured exports were US$1.5575423 million, a year-on-year decrease of 16.83%. The top five markets in terms of export volume are: the United States, Italy, India, Japan, and Pakistan. The five markets together account for 50.53% of my country’s total exports of silk products. The top five provinces and cities in terms of export volume are: Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shanghai, and Sichuan, with market shares of: 39.3%, 12.89%, 11.52%, 8.03%, and 6.08%. The export value of Sichuan Province’s silk products was US$187.294 million, a year-on-year decrease of 14.61%, accounting for 6.08%; the export volume of silk products was 29.370 million meters (sets), a year-on-year decrease of 36.58%, accounting for 8.13%.
