It is noteworthy that Shunde is gradually emerging as a “tourist shopping” export clothing export. In 2014, Shunde exported 4 billion yuan of clothing in the form of general trade, a decrease of 13.2%, accounting for 59.1% of Shunde’s total clothing export value that year. During the same period, Shunde exported 2.23 billion yuan of clothing in the form of “tourist shopping” goods, accounting for 33%, becoming a clothing export Exports are new trade methods; while exports through processing trade were 530 million yuan, a decrease of 10.8%, accounting for 7.9%.
The European Union, Africa and the United States are the main export markets for Shunde clothing, and exports to Africa have doubled. According to statistics, in 2014, Shunde exported 1.95 billion yuan of clothing to the EU, an increase of 18.2%, exported 1 billion yuan of clothing to Africa, an increase of 5.5 times, and exported 920 million yuan to the United States, an increase of 8.1%. In addition, exports to Hong Kong were 760 million yuan, down 5.4%, and exports to Latin America were 430 million yuan, down 15.3%.
