On January 23, 2015, the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Non-Food Products (RAPEX) issued a consumer warning on Chinese-made “SettyKoop” brand children’s jackets. The notifying country in this case is Romania. The children’s jacket reported this time is a pink and green jacket with a zipper and an adjustable long cord on the hood, about 150 mm long. The jacket is suitable for children aged 8 years. The style/model number of this children’s jacket is NY742. The above products belong to 67000000 (clothing) in the OECD Portal Category.
The above-mentioned children’s jackets may pose a suffocation hazard to children. The long cord on the hat can easily strangle a child’s neck, posing a suffocation hazard. This product does not comply with the relevant EU standard EN14682.
At present, the Romanian authorities have taken compulsory measures to withdraw the above products from the market.
To this end, it is recommended that relevant domestic production and export enterprises attach great importance to this.
